The 12.5 features the exclusive SmartRig, through which sailing has never been so instinctively easy. There are only two control ropes: a trim control for the sail and a power control that adjusts the size of the sail. With an outstanding cockpit, the Catalina Expedition 12.5 has a seat across for a secure place for those in the family just starting.

Performance
The Catalina Expedition 12.5 delivers performance in a package that is fun and easy to handle. The underwater profile of the 12.5 reflects the latest in performance shapes: the forward section is deeply veed to slice the water, and the aft section is flat to provide stability as well as a clean run for water passing the boat. The lightweight hull can be transported on standard, padded roof racks on top of a car - so there is no need for expensive trailers and their storage.

Quality
First-class hardware, anodized spars, and precision molded dagger boards add to the lasting quality.  Hand laminated gelcoated fiberglass hulls, decks, and non-skid surfaces insure beauty and strength with minimum maintenance for years. The Catalina 12.5 is simple for a beginner or junior sailor to rig and handle, yet sophisticated enough for an experienced sailor to enjoy.
